The Special Assistance Program may provide basic medical supplies and equipment to eligible people who live in the community, need them for activities of daily living, and meet the program’s financial criteria. Coverage is not automatic. Depending on the item, an occupational therapist or another health professional may need to complete an assessment, prescription, or supporting documentation.
Call before buying or ordering because approval, payment, or reimbursement is not guaranteed. Advanced foot care is a separate assessed service for certain eligible people age 65 or older; it is not a general cash allowance. Ask the program to confirm any footwear approval before purchasing.
Do not send prescriptions, medical records, financial documents, or identification through this website.
